Larraul Ecomuseum
Not just a simple collection of objects
The pieces that make up the exhibition show us much more than vanished ways of life; they show us the sense of a living community of the Larraul people. The Larraul Ecomuseum is an ethnographic museum that can be visited all year-round. It gives you the opportunity to delve into Basque rural culture through its protagonists. Upon seeing it, you will learn that the farmhouse is much more than a simple building.
Heritage of a Rural Village
You’ll be able to see objects that will take you back in time and see that some are still as they were centuries ago, even though the new ones are industrially manufactured. These pieces are part of our way of being and living, because they tell us who we are and where we come from. Those who lived through the tremendous transformation of the countryside will tell you about its evolution.
Heritage of a Rural Village
Most of the museum’s pieces tell us about agriculture (spades, carts, pots, tools, etc.), but there are also pieces related to religion, trade, sports, war, festivals, and emigration.
