Basque Country Trail Station includes 16 routes in the Natural Parks of Aizkorri-Aratz and Aralar. Two parks that connect Goierri and Tolosaldea, and the stars of worldwide known trail competitions: Zegama-Aizkorri and Ehunmilak.

Basque Country Trail Station has been designed following the advice of Iker Karrera, ultra-trail runner and winner of prestigious international races, who was born in the area.

Two access points to the station
The trail station has two entrances, one for each Natural Park. One entrance is located at the pass next to the Larraitz Hermitage, and the other is in the municipality of Zegama. The two entrances are connected by a road, and you can drive from one to the other in 30 minutes.
The routes
Short routes, longer ones and very long ones, technical ones on limestone, runnable ones, 3km vertical… and, above all, landscapes that we want everyone to feel and enjoy.
Reception area in Larraitz
The reception is located at the access point to the Aralar Natural Park. There is a parking lot at the park entrance that allows you to reach the park by car.

Different mountain races are organised in or pass through Tolosaldea, bringing togethers dozens of trail lovers.
Negu Trail - February 4
Winter competition that takes place in the mountains surrounding Berastegi. With a distance of approximately 17 kilometers and an elevation gain of no more than 1,000 meters, it passes through the peaks of Urdelar, Larre, and Ipuliño.
Anttine Trail - March 23
This is a timed climb that starts from the Iturriotz parking lot to the Hernio Cross (4 km and +482 km).
Maximum 80 participants, €10 registration fee. Registration closes March 21 (11:59 PM)
Txindoki Vertical Kilometer - May 18
Mountain race that climbs Txindoki, one of the most famous mountains in the Basque Country. Among those found in the Aralar Natural Park, it can be said that this is the most special peak.
It is the steepest and toughest route (3.6 km and 980 m+).
T3T / T2T - June 16
A 43.8-kilometer race that runs through Tolosaldea, crossing three of its most iconic peaks: Hernio, Uzturre, and Erroizpe (Larte). The last two form the short route. It starts and finishes in the central Plaza del Triángulo de Tolosa.
Ehunmilak - July 12
A 168-kilometer ultra trail. The first runner, among more than 500, arrives approximately 23 hours into the race, and the last participant crosses the finish line 48 hours later. It starts and finishes in Beasain, and passes through Hernio, Tolosa, Larraitz, and Txindoki, among other places.
Triku Harri - July 20
The 3rd edition of the Triku Harri Mendi Lasterketa de Villabona will be held on July 20th. Registration is now open for both events. To register, mountain runners must visit rockthesport.com.
The short race is 12 kilometers long. The long race is 22 kilometers long. The short race has a vertical gradient of 430 meters and will climb Onddolar (435 meters). The long course has a vertical gradient of 1,164 meters and will climb Onddolar, Belabieta (699 meters), Uzturre (730 meters), and Loatzo (636 meters).
UTT Erronka - September 13
Tolosaldea Ultra Trail Challenge
Final of the Euskal Herria Ultra Cup. A route that connects Tolosaldea’s most unknown landscapes. 77 km and over 4,000 meters of vertical gradient.
