Located on a small hill, dominates a picturesque meadow between Villabona and Tolosa. Oria river flows through the village. Is one of the places where Xare, a sport played with a manually sewed racket, is still alive.

Ametsa trinkete court

Trinkete is a very special fronton court, Ametsa being one of the few that are in Gipuzkoa. This type of fronton court is where Xare, a type of Basque pelota game, has been played in Irura for over a century. At first it used to be played on the church’s arcade. After a decade of being fogotten in the 60s, it was brought back. This fronton court was built in 1987, and nowadays has a club working on preserving it.

San Miguel church

16th century Gothic style building, in the square named after it. The beautiful arcade was added later, and restored on the 20th century. The bell tower was crowned with a Neogothic dome.

Old washing place

Built in 1889, with polygonal floor, molten iron columns and stone masonry base. It used to be one of the social meeting points, for women in particular.

Laskibar and Agerre farmhouses

Both remarkable for their architechture. Laskibar was built on the 18th century. With a monumental facade, two semicircular arches in masonry. Agerre, on the other harnd, belongs to the first generation of Basque farmhouses, being one of Irura’s oldest buildings. From the late 15th or early 16th century.
