Basque Country Trail Station includes 16 routes in the Natural Parks of Aizkorri-Aratz and Aralar. Two parks that connect Goierri and Tolosaldea, and the stars of worldwide known trail competitions: Zegama-Aizkorri and Ehunmilak.

Basque Country Trail Station has been designed following the advice of Iker Karrera, ultra-trail runner and winner of prestigious international races, who was born in the area.

Two access points to the station
The trail station has two entrances, one for each Natural Park. One entrance is located at the pass next to the Larraitz Hermitage, and the other is in the municipality of Zegama. The two entrances are connected by a road, and you can drive from one to the other in 30 minutes.
The routes
Short routes, longer ones and very long ones, technical ones on limestone, runnable ones, 3km vertical… and, above all, landscapes that we want everyone to feel and enjoy.
Reception area in Larraitz
Next to the Larraitz baths, two showers and a fountain have been installed. Inside the Zamao bathhouse, there are two more showers and a fountain, and a third cold shower is located outside.
The boot-cleaning fountain is located next to the Zamao entrance. Each shower has a token machine outside, and tokens can be purchased for €2. Each token allows for a 5-minute hot shower and can be bought at the two bar-restaurants in Larraitz:

Trail races in Tolosaldea
Different mountain races are organised in or pass through Tolosaldea, bringing togethers dozens of trail lovers.
Negu Trail - February 1
Winter competition that takes place in the mountains surrounding Berastegi. With a distance of approximately 17 kilometers and an elevation gain of no more than 1,000 meters, it passes through the peaks of Urdelar, Larre, and Ipuliño.
Anttine Trail - March 21
This is a timed climb starting from the Iturriotz parking lot and ending at the Hernio cross (4km and +482m).
Maximum 80 participants, €15 registration fee. Registration closes February 17 (8:00 PM).
Txindoki Vertical Kilometer - May 9
Mountain race that climbs Txindoki, one of the most famous mountains in the Basque Country. Among those found in the Aralar Natural Park, it can be said that this is the most special peak.
It is the steepest and toughest route (3.6 km and 980 m+).
T3T / T2T - June 14
A 43.8-kilometer race that runs through Tolosaldea, crossing three of its most iconic peaks: Hernio, Uzturre, and Erroizpe (Larte). The last two form the short route. It starts and finishes in the central Plaza del Triángulo de Tolosa.
Triku Harri - June 27
The 5th edition of the Triku Harri Mendi Lasterketa in Villabona will take place on June 27th. Registration is now open for both races. Mountain runners should register at rockthesport.com.
The short race is 12 kilometers long. The long race is 22 kilometers long. The short race has a positive elevation gain of 430 meters and includes climbs to Onddolar (435 meters). The long race has a positive elevation gain of 1,164 meters and includes climbs to Onddolar, Belabieta (699 meters), Uzturre (730 meters), and Loatzo (636 meters).

Tolosaldea Ultra Trail Challenge
Final of the Basque Country Ultra Cup. A route that connects the most undiscovered landscapes of Tolosaldea. 77km and over 4,000m of elevation gain.
