Txakoli with more personality
There are two txakoli (a type of white wine) wineries in Tolosaldea: one in Alkiza, the small and familiar Inazio Urruzola, and HIKA in Amasa, a modern and innovative winery. Not only the wines, but also the food served in their restaurants is high quality.
Getariako Txakolina Certificate of Origin Txakoli
The area including Getariako Txakolina Certificate of Origin includes the whole province of Gipuzkoa, with 433 vineyard hectares. Even though most of them are located in the coast, just a few metres from the Cantabrian Sea, there are a few inland wineries.

Far but close to the sea
The vineyards, although surrounded by mountains and far from the coast, still have the sea influence, as salpetre touches the bunches. This conbination makes the production of these special txakolis posible.
Wines made using native grapes
Ondarrabi Zuri white grape is the main one used in the making og Getaria Txakoli, although it can be combined with others, such as Chardonnay or Petit Corbu.

There are two txaloki wineries in Tolosaldea. Both offer guided tours and tastings, and have high quality restaurants.
HIKA
Located at the top of a hill in Amasa, overlooking the valley. The unique building amazes everyone, as well as the surrounding vegetable gardens, where the products later used in their kitchen are grown. The restaurant, lead by chef Roberto Ruiz, is characterised by serving traditional Basque meals with a modern touch, with Tolosa Beans, served all year round and grilled meals as the stars.
Inazio Urruzola
Family winery in Alkiza, at the foothills of Hernio mountain, on the surroundings of the 14th century farmhouse Garaikoetxea, which still keeps the press structure. Being a narrow valley, the txakoli produced here has strong personality. IU restaurant offers the chance of holdiing events in private spaces, such as presentation, meetings and tastings.
