Pello Urdapilleta, in his Elola farmhouse, works on the recovery of local pig Euskal Txerri (Basque pig), which was saved from extintion. With over 400 head of Basque pig free-roaming and eating naturally a diet based on beech and oak acorn, chesnut, hazelnut and grass. A great example of sustainable agriculture.
Once slaughtered the products are made the traditional way, without chemical preservatives nor colorants: ham, bacon, loin, chorizo, txistorra, pâté…
Two guided tour with tasting included
Visit the farm, located in an unbeatable spot, and finish the tour tasting the products in the lovely farmhouse.
• Visit with cold meat tasting: chorizo, Iberian spicy sausage, loin and ham; with bread, water, txakoli wine, wine or cider. Price: 48.8€ per person.
• Visit with cold meat tasting –chorizo, Iberian spicy sausage, loin and ham– and the ones cooked at the moment– txistorra and sausage–; with bread, water, txakoli wine, wine or cider. Price: 61€ per person.
